I don't remember.....I think I Google'd "Combat Carry" to look for more information on the Kimber Combat Carry .45 ACP which is one of the predecessors of the Compact CDP.

Googled (Used the Google ) something, don't remember what and found this place.

It was so nice I joined and is the only forum that I am a member of.

Ditto, I started looking around in "Gun Talk" and that lasted for about a month and I got sick of the Trolls and left for the Troll-free land of Combat Carry.

Now that I think about it, I'd like to thank the Mods for kicking the Trolls to the curb. Nothing ruins a good forum like those dolts.

No thanks needed, we all enjoy ejecting the trolls.

For me, I lurked around a lot of forums looking for concealed carry information and found very little. I was very put off by the fights, flames and name calling, immature people, and, of course, the trolls and ninjas. When I couldn't find the place, I decided, as an experiment to build it.

when i got out of the military and moved back to PA, i searched for carry laws here. i think it was one of the first things to come up. and yes... i believe it was Google. don't really remember what made it stand out from the rest. from what i remember though... i think it was the name - Combat Carry - not that I'm aggressive but it seemed to say "no bulls*&t, cards on the table" and i feel i got the answers and info sound enough and right away to suck me right in. geez... that was what? ... 19 dickity 6? ... i mean, 5 months ago.

A True Rags To Riches Story.

I was homeless and utterly destitute sleeping under a cardboard HDTV Box box under an overpass (or was that over an underpass...I forget) and living out of a stolen shopping cart filled with MD 20/20 bottles.
I collected Aluminum cans out of trash cans and dumpsters for a living.
I tried bumming a dollar and a cigarette off of Bumper one day and instead he gave me a job scraping the barnacles off of his yacht.

From there...one day he handed me a razor - got me into a hot shower - gave me a fresh set of clothes...a haircut - and I worked my way up to being his personal manservant and errand boy.

Then he threatened to throw me back out into the street (where he found me) unless I helped him moderate his Internet forum.
Now my CombatCarry salary is up into six figures.
    Bless his heart.

I can't recall, now. I think it was via a search. Came across a few posts from the FiringLine and THR, then saw a post or two from CombatCarry. Liked what I saw, liked the tenor of people's responses, and certainly enjoyed the lack of spam and overall intelligence put into the thoughtful replies. A quality little group, here.
