    Question for admins

Why did our carry gun display disappear from under our user name, location and avatar when we post? I noticed this a while ago, but never really asked.

Pretty sure it had something to do with Vbulletin updates, I'm sure Bumper will be long later and should have better answers.

Often, after an upgrade, the code to add that little bit of information had to be re-added. There were so many people either not using the field, or using it for silly information (similar to how people use the "location" field) I decided it wasn't worth the trouble given the number of upgrades we have to do.

Yeah, I kinda liked it too, but I won't miss its passing, because, like Bumper said, too many members felt like editorializing by posting silly stuff as their carry gun.

    Some actual past examples:

    "Just Guess"

    "Of Course!"

    "Tactical Nuke"

    "Bacon Sandwich"

    See what I mean?

When you’re wounded and left on Afghanistan’s plains,
And the women come out to cut up what remains,
Just roll to your rifle and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier.

I'm glad its gone too, but I kinda liked when people put something different there. It showed a little bit of personality and character instead of the stale same old guns that nobody really cares about anyway.
I'd rather develop my thoughts on other members by the character/humor and personality that they show than the stale and sterile Glock 23, Colt Commander, or whatever it is that they carry. I'd rather know a little bit about the member, I couldnt care less about their gun collection.

Now for the real reason I made this post... If you still want to know what a person carries, it still appears in the public profile.
