    There should be a button in the bottom right corner of the box around your post, just to the left of the "quote" button. I don't know that it stays there forever, or a limited time, but you should see it on the post you just made.

    How long does it take before a post is "timed out"? I'd be in favor of 12-24 hours.

    Why even have it "time out"? I've looked at some of my old posts and been embarrassed by the spelling...it makes me look like some Ozark Mountain hill jack with a 3rd grade education. It's disgusting.Totally disgusting.

    One reason is that an old thread may be changed so the sequence of posts no longer make sense.

    Actually, the timeout time, which is 24 hours, came about by previous member suggestions. We have had several members get mad about a single post that someone made (or staff correcting them on breaking the rules) and turned around and erased every post they had ever made. It made a real mess of the involved threads causing a lot of "hand work" by staff to clean up. Members are not allowed to delete threads or posts.

    Spell checkers and proofreading work pretty well, but if there is something beyond the edit expiration time, you can PM staff and we'll take care of it.
