i have been on many, many gun forums as well as other forums and defensecarry is without a doubt the very best, informative and well run forum i have ever been a part of.

Not everyone necessarily likes our rather tight ship but on balance there are a great many more who do! :smilez:
It is a team staff effort of course - input by many good folks to try and keep us on the rails.

+10, people here are so much friendlier and more informative than the other forums out there. It really does feel like an extended family for me. The mods are always good about keeping things on topic, but aren't so strict as to discourage free thinking or differing opinions. There are no "flames" and the diversity here is great because of the open atmosphere this board maintains.
I believe 99.9% like the "tight ship". You guys and gals do a great job!Quote:

i agree. dc has always seemed like a great ccw school to me.

I personally appreciate the tight ship. Even when I find myself in danger of being thrown over the side!
A hearty thank you to all of the staff for everything you do.
Unfortunately, we hear quite a lot from those that don't. It is my belief that we could not maintain civility without the ship being tight. Some absolutely disagree, accusing us of restricting free speech, being prudes, being intolerant, politically correct and just about everything else you can think of. It's all falling on deaf ears, though, we are what we are and don't plan on changing because I do believe most want a comfortable atmosphere, without flames name calling. Those that don't have plenty other forums to choose from.Quote:

bluedaisy and Holdcard, you have each expressed the prime reasons why we work so hard to maintain a clean, comfortable forum. We want ladies to come in and join in here. In order for that to happen this place has to be non-threatening. We also want men and women who are teaching their children and grandchildren or who are keeping them to feel comfortable here because they know that there will be no surprises that will affect little eyes and minds.
There are those who have a problem with that idea, not a lot but some, and to those we say: You have a choice - live with it or leave. We do not intend to change the way things are done here to appease any individual or group. We are who we are and since the owner is the one who sets the standard we will remain the way we are.
