Forum Upgrade
I had the time available and upgraded the forum script to the latest production version (v3.6.10) tonight. It appears that all went well. If anyone notices anything different about the forum, please don't hesitate to let me know so I can check it out.

Geeze Boss, don't you EVER sleep?
Sounds like you've managed to improve responsiveness without a server upgrade? Like I said before, if emergency funds are needed just say the word.

The pages have been kicking over quicker and there has not been any stalling when posting....so far.

So far, so good... but prime time tonight will tell. Thanks!

I was a computer operator when I was in college. Computers were a bit different then. It was one computer and multiple users. I always used to give myself higher priority so all MY tasks would complete first before any of the the paying customers. I don't suppose you could....oh never mind.

Thanks Bumper. The site has been awfully slow from my house but lightning fast from my work machine (and yes, I can peruse with impunity while at work... most of the time). Hopefully the upgrade will help when at home.

While there were some minor performance improvements in the new version, I expect that performance will degrade, once again, this evening when our numbers get up in the 700-800 range. I will be pleasantly surprised if I'm wrong....

Ditto on the faster speed. I was thinking that there was something wrong on this end. Works good so far, thanks!

Thanks Bumper - I have noticed a significant decrease in the lag time! So far so good!

Hi Bumper- Thought I'd give you an update. It's 10:45pm EST, 750+ users on line, and unfortunately, just crawling over here. More than two minutes to post a reply. I'm going to log off now and free up a little bandwith.

It's not that bad over here...possibly 20-30 seconds...and, unfortunately, I am not generous enough to log off to free up more bandwith.
So much to learn..so much to type.
