Looks like the name is resolving to 209.170.150.122

I've been noticing various problems with the Internet for over a month now. Haven't really looked into it, but as the issues for me are becoming more frequent, I may.

    Ditto here.

    Other, non-gun-rights sites worked fine.

This and other gun-rights sites found site and then timed out.

That's not always true. In cases where the web server is hosting more than one site, it uses the hostname that you used to determine which site to display for you. If the server is only hosting one site, though, then using the IP address in the URL would work.

Correct. In the case of this site, it IS hosted on a server that is hosting multiple web sites. So accessing it's IP at http://209.170.150.122 would *not* work. The only way to have made it work would be to add a static host entry in your hosts file:

    209.170.150.122 defensivecarry.com www.defensivecarry.com

    On Linux/Mac, its in /etc/hosts
    On Windows its in \WINDOWS\drivers\etc\hosts

This is a file that is a "DNS override", if you will..

Though, this is not recommended you do this because if you add that override in your hosts file, then a year down the road DC changes their IP number... you will have the wrong one.

Ok thats it! After reading some of the conspiracy comments here, I am beginning to think that stocking up on all that tin foil was not all for nothing and I am now prepared to break it out and start making hats.

C'mon guys, the internet is going to have a hiccup every once in a while.
I will support gun control when you can guarantee all guns are removed from this planet. That includes military and law enforcement. When you can accomplish that, then I will be the last person to lay down my gun. Then I will carry the weapon that replaces the gun.

I realize the internet gets funky from time to time. By the way.....have you priced tin foil lately!? And to think, I called my local recycler today and they are only paying 30 per lb for aluminum cans!

Okay....now, I watch the progress of page loads when I hit reply.......there is still something fishy going on here because I saw combatcarry.com flash in the bar as the new page loaded. Just a note to self that it doesn't usually do that.

What, all the gun related forums have the same hiccup at the same time?

Not making any hat's here, not exactly feeling reassured either.

Here's a new twist on things. I went to the search feature and this is the message I got:
