Click on this DefensiveCarry Concealed Carry Forum link and it puts you on the main page with the list of all the forum headers.

At the bottom of that page, (directly above where all the online members are listed) it has Top 5 Stats. Top 5 posters, Top 5 thread starters, Top 5 hottest threads, etc.

I had been away from the forum for several months last year and when I came back they had that section. It's been around for the last several months. Not sure exactly when they started doing it, but I like it.

    Tango Yankee.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

I found that script one night about 6 months ago when I was doing some research. I installed it without even announcing it. It's a good snapshot of what is going on, activity wise, in the forum. It's funny, I think you are the first person to even mention it....

What's interesting to me is that there was over a 3 point bump in November of '08. I wonder what significance that has?

For me it was also the learning experience, trumped by the, better do it while I still can. I have researched many aspects of oc, cc, laws (local/federal), also ask questions and give my opinion with not much criticism from older members, this is a great knowledgeable forum!

I think alot of forums increase in membership throughout the winter months. People stay inside and entertain themselves due to inclement weather. Once spring time comes and everyone is able to get into the yards, I think that normal visitation and new membership decreases again. I suspect that memberships will once again increase close to the holidays and winter time again. (except for those of us who are "die hards")

When this kind of data is easily available, this is what sometimes happens. Don't know what might happen here in similar circumstances.

I joined a couple of weeks ago but have been visiting for about a month. I first became aware of this forum as I began researching personal defense pistols and concealed carry issues. I know that my interest in firearms and protecting the Second Amendment has increased since oh, say November. Perhaps the uptick in membership is somehow related to this as well?
