For first timers and sometimes others, the homepage itself (http://www.defensivecarry.com) does not provide a intuitive link to the forums. You either have to click on one of the latest post summaries or know that the tiny folder icon leads to the forums.
Just a suggestion, but it should be as simple as possible in order to lead new users to the forums.
For some reason, the redirect that used to be on the base URL has stopped working. I'll check it out later tonight and see if I can get it fixed....

This way, it goes right to the forums section. I don't think I looked at the front page in ages!
