    Question Reputation ?

In the user control panel under edit options it says I have one reputation point. I have never found out what this really means nor do I see how to find what that reputation is.

    How does this work?

I saw that as well. Plus I don't see anything on your post that would indicate your reputation?

I think it's the number in the little red and white triangle, below your avatar. However, you'll notice that even a lowly newb like myself still sports a "1"?

The reputation system is a feature in vBulletin that would allow us to turn the whole forum into a reputation "******* match" which is what led to packing.org's demise. I have it turned off, of course, but use that field to indicate whether a member gets the "Site Supporter" graphic. If there is a "1" there the script knows to add it; if it's blank it does not appear. This is the reason that sometimes, after a donation, there will instead be a "reputation disabled" message until I can manually add the "1" to the member record.

Aaaahhh... Oh man, can you imagine if members carried ratings that were controlled by feedback from other members (kind of like ebay)? Yikes.

Ignorance is bliss for me .

Thanks Bumper and all who tried to help. I asked because I just noticed it had a one there now and didn't before.

I agree with the whole reason for it being disabled though.

"Yikes," is right. It's essentially what killed the famous web site (Packing.org) that was "top dog" for referencing CHL legal data, prior to Handgunlaw.us coming to the top spot. It flushed itself down the drain due to the horrific wrangling by members, among other things. Better to not have any such thing, here. It can be grossly counter-productive, if that's any gauge.
