I wasn't aware there was an open carry group so close to me. I'm going to have to look them up and get involved

+1 Glad Alabama open carry is getting some attention from the media. Don't know where they're getting the info on schools...but overall it was very positive.

    Hey Al Ratcliffe,
Do you not have a conceal permit?
Was there a gun in the holster on your hip in the video?
    Was the gun real?
If so, you just committed a felony on camera for the whole world to see.

    dougwg-

    How do you figure that????????????????????

Some of us live in states with much more freedom than you; in Missouri an 18 year old can walk through downtown with an open handgun and NO permit and not break ANY law.

But not as many know that they can carry a holstered pistol openly without a permit.

There are no state laws prohibiting the open carry of firearms. There is also an Attorney General's opinion that says it is legal for gunowners to do so.
You should READ not just watch.

    {Internet pond water slow here right now so I can't watch the video; but I can READ}

Because during the video (if you watched it) he concealed it.
In Alabama, one needs a conceal permit to do so legally.

You should not only read, which I did but also watch. One should try to get as much info as possible FIRST, before posting an opinion.

    That's how I figure.

Any of you guys in the Montgomery area want to get together for an OC cup of joe at Starbuck's? I'm open to Montgomery or Prattville Starbucks locations. These guys in B-ham are doing it, we need to get on the ball here in the tri-County area.

Shoot me a PM if interested.

    Thanks,
    MT
