    Interesting conversation at Walmarts tonight

Made a quick run to Walmarts this evening to pick up a couple of items for dinner. As usual when making quick trips like this I was OC’ing. Walking down the isle I hear a woman behind me say “See that man carrying a gun?” I look around and here is a woman, I’d guess in her 60’s, with her grandson. She then tells her grandson, “He’s practicing one of his constitutional right.”

We got to talking, she asked me why I carried. I told her for self-protection, and that all you had to do was watch the new to know, you never know when you’ll need it. She agreed with me and then stated her son (boys father) collected antique guns, but didn’t carry.

As I was walking away, I heard her tell him “It’s important to know your rights and exercise them, otherwise you could lose them.”
Freedom doesn't come free. It is bought and paid for by the lives and blood of our men and women in uniform.

i had a similar experience tonight. i ran to the store to grab a couple things for dinner too and as i was walking out i had a guy look at me, then down to my gun then give me a thumbs up and said "niiicce". i thought it was pretty cool cuz tonight was like the second or third time ive OCed. still trying to get used to it. i dont have my CFP yet so its my only choice for now but like i said its totally new and nerve racking, as im sure you know.

thumbs up to that lady and explaining to her grandson early to know his rights and exercise them or you may lose them.

+1 for Grandma. Glad you had an opportunity to talk to them. I'm sure it will serve as a positive encounter and influence for her grandson. Congrats, and thanks for representing well!!!

    I am.
People that think like that are getting old and dying off.
Its not like anyone is learning much in school these days.

I think with these changing times the minority is becoming the majority. We all know gun and ammo sales have been through the roof lately and professional firearms training courses have been filled beyond capacity.
USMC rule # 23 of gunfighting: Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everyone you meet.

I am the God fearing, gun toting, flag waving conservative you were warned about!

Thank goodness for choice (for those who live in OC states).

Hm... perhaps the OC gun folks can co-opt the 'Pro-Choice' slogan? That'd be funny.

People who think criminals are quaking in their boots paralyzed with fear that a citizen might be armed clearly have never met any real criminals. But, and God bless America, everybody is free tro believe what they choose to. Because when crunch time comes the situation will not bend and become what you want or falsely have gone through life believing it would be/should be. For me, I was about 7 when I realized Peter Pan did not exist.

Here's a great video of a criminal who was scared out of his mind by the sight of a gun being pointed at himby somebody who had the drop on him:

Open carry simply decreases your chances of becoming a victim.

    +1

And woot for Grandma!... we need to get her on video and make it go viral on the internet!

Gentlemen, notice the second sentence in the post title...

This is not a place to debate the virtues of open vs concealed carry

I have done some cleanup of posts that are off topic. Lets keep it on the original topic.

    Thanks.

Wiuth all due respect sir, liberals have opinions also. That does not mean I need to subscribe to them, just because they have them, if I find them to not comport with reality.
