Do Women who OC get same result as Men?

My wife and I were just wondering... she hasn't received her CHP yet, and we were discussing how she was going to carry (or conceal), when it came to us...

What kind of response from the public (and LEO's) would it draw if an attractive woman was OC'ing?

    Would the public notice?
Would she get hit on more by men? (Yeah that's my kinda woman)
What would the WWAG call to the police sound like? (I'd like to report a WWAG. [dispatch]What's the description and where is she at? [caller]Blond hair, blue eyes, and a gun on her hip.
She's in WW in the Grocery section. [dispatch] I'll send an officer.
(5 minutes later about 20 cops show up) LOL

Just wondering, of the women on this forum that OC, do you seem to get noticed more/less than the men? Do you seem to get "reported" WWAG less than the men?

I would think that a WWAG would be less threatening looking (as a thug or criminal) than a man would. People, when spotting a WWAG, would naturally assume (she is carrying for SD).

I've also not noticed any women on the forum posting saying they were called in to law enforcement for OC'ing.

What is your take on this?

im not a woman but i am pretty sure the cat calls and winks and such would slow or stop with a lady with a gun on her side. I think that its Great idea, nothing screams NOT AN EASY VICTIM like a pistol on a ladys hip.
You may not like guns. You may choose not to own one. That is your right.
You might not believe in God. That is your choice.
However, if someone breaks into your home at 3AM the first two things you are going to do are:
    1) Call someone with a gun.
2)Pray they get there in time." - A wise man

I'm not female or sexist but I would probably expect people (especially men) to give a more positive reaction then a male open carrying a gun. Maybe some sneers from soccer moms?

The post isn't meant to be sexist. Just a little light hearted, and the question to those females that do OC already, to see what they have experienced.

This is not at all sexist IMO. I am a woman who was wondering the same thing. How would people respond to me if I open carried? Would men think twice before hitting on me, (a married woman) or would I get alot of negative attention from the soccer mom's out there?

I remember a story where a women, I think PA went to a soccer game OCing. The police were called and I think they tried to get her for disturbing the peace. I think the charges were dropped. However the sheep that were at the game were not happy campers.

I think that the reaction is somewhat different, because it is more unexpected. If the both of you are out and OCing my guess is that you'll get lumped in together and looked at as Branch Davidians. If she is by herself she will likely be an enigma: very feminine in appearance (from your description) but with a firearm, which in general is seen as very UNfeminine.

The soccer moms had screaming fits, literally. She wound up charged with breach of peace, even though OC was perfectly legal. BTW, she was a soccer mom, too - there with her own children.

could you imagine? Little black dress with a .45 strapped to the side... sounds like a cover for Dilion's Blue Press

We can not open carry in Texas.

My wife CC everywhere it is legal.

Knowing her if it was legal to OC she would and feel good about it.

Speaking as a 25 yr old guy (married btw) it totally depends on the girl. The gun would not deter me one bit. If anything it might encourage it seeing as how i also like guns. I would base my choice to hit on a woman based more on her appearance than any other factor. An attractive woman with a gun......
