The wife and I OC'd today to Jefferson National Forest. Funny they still have a sign as you drive into the area that says, "No firearms or Hunting beyond this point". I think they need to remove their sign, or change it to just say "no hunting beyond this point".
I was carrying my Ruger LCR in my J.I.T. slide about 2:30.
She was carrying the SP101 3" OWB in an Uncle Mikes nylon holster
at about 2:00.
We walked 3 miles down and back on the trail and got nothing but smiles and friendly greetings from other people on the trail.
We then went to Dairy Queen to get something cold as it was mid 70's out there. Plenty of people in DQ, nothing said until we were seated and enjoying our ice cream, and the manager comes out and says, "I noticed ya'lls sidearms, are ya'll law enforcement? or just law abiding citizens?" To which we just agreed, "just law abiding citizens". He just went on about his business and and from half way across the dining area says, "I just wonder how long it's going to be before they take them away from us".
We didn't comment on that. Finished out ice cream and left.
All in all, a good day of practicing our RKBA.

I love Dairy Queen.
Don't believe what you hear and only half of what you see!
Glad all went well.
As for Dairy Queen, I have an ax to grind with them. Do you know what they went and did? They put a drive in window in and now my car will not go past it without pulling right in there.
Sounds like a great day to me.
I wished we could OC in Texas!!!
NOT LIVING IN FEAR, JUST READY!!!
I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness,
nor the arrow for its swiftness,
nor the warrior for his glory.
I love only that which they defend.
