I ask because when I first got my CCW, back in '87, NYS defined a "conceled weapon" as any weapon within reach.
Now the definitions have changed, and I don't see where the issue of Open Carry is addressed.
Does NYS law pre-date and ignore the OC issue?
The law is you need a permit to possess and in order to carry on that permit it needs to be concealed. "To have and carry concealed" is the terminology.
