    You are most correct.

I'm wondering if anyone makes a recorder that 'rolls over'? I bought a little car video camera a while back that records continually, then when it's out of memory, records over the oldest file...the idea being, if you've ever in an accident, you turn it off and you've got the most recent footage (ideally the accident) as evidence. Not the perfect system, but a decent start. Does anyone know if anything like that exists just for audio?

cj, what is the make/model of your video recorder?

Hmm, thought I'd responded, but am not seeing it so hoping it doesn't double-post. It's a little cheapie called the 'Vehicle Safegaurd' by Spion...I'm pretty sure it's rebranded under a few other names as well. Lots of really bad reviews and I'm glad I paid nowhere near the normal price for it...more of a toy than a serious tool, but it's the cheapest thing I could find that had the ability to roll over without having to pull the card out and erase it.
