My first OC was a non event
Well I live in conserative Idaho (Yahoo) I went to SE Idaho for a small community, yearly celebration. I have a CC permit. I decided to not cover my 1911 in my crossbreed. Didn't tell my wife. After about 30 minutes of walking around my wife said your underwear is showing ( code for your gun is not covered) I said I know. Continued all afternoon, no reaction from anyone. Had two walk by's with LEO's, one really close, they had to see my gun. No reaction at all! Not sure that open carry is my future but wanted to "feel the water" . It was a good day. Nice to have support from the wife.
In a gun fight, you can not miss fast enough, to catch up.

Nice to hear you have a non-eventful experience. I only OC. Have considered CC, but decided against it.

I mix between OC/CC, depending on how I am dressed and such. Only had one issue and that was a drunk guy who swore OC was not legal in my state and threatend to call the police on me for having a gun, he was also a tenant we were evicting.

Most open carry first experiences are non-eventful. Mine in Tennessee was. I'm still waiting on my permit in Indiana so I'll let everyone know how it goes up here in Yankee land after I OC the first time.

I have been cc for several years, but recently started oc because I feel safer that way...easier access and visibility is a deterrent to 'would be' attackers. I get a lot of questions and looks, but so far, nothing negative. ;-) What amazes me most is that the majority of people think it is illegal to carry open in my state -- which it's not. OC gives me a lot of opportunities to educate people on our state laws and constitutional rights.
