The page doesn't say too much...
-Licensed Open Carry, I understand that.
-Dept of Ag may take fingerprints, well they TAKE them now with the app unless it means that they can actually do your prints at a regional office (that would be quicker).
-Vehicle carry and storage is already legal for anyone who can legally own a firearm, so I don't know what the deal is with this one.
-Firearms purchase legal in all states...don't know exactly what this means.

    Can anyone clarify?

On the page linked in the above post, there is another link that shows the entire text of the bill in PDF format. I appears (I'm not a lawyer) that the new law would allow a Florida dealer to sell a handgun or long gun to any resident of another state who may legally own a firearm. But all I did was scan over the additions, I haven't read the bill in full yet.

Regardless, Open Carry is one I'll take! Not that I'd use it much, but one should be able to if one wishes.

They already do LiveScan prints at the regional offices.

Sounds good, and I like this - it has a much better chance at passing in one piece with licensed open carry.

I am also extremely pleased to see that campus carry was included.

Interesting language in their revision of subsection (12).

It mentions only concealed firearms, meaning than openly carried firearms would be permitted in those locations.

I don't see that surviving the legislative process.....

Technically, they aren't supposed to under the law. But nobody is complaining. The language changes makes it legal.

Interstate sells of firearms would still fall under Federal law, so I'm not sure what effect state law would have. I'm also not sure of Crisp's stance on open carry. He's been pro-gun in the past, both as Att. Gen and Gov, but don't recall any mention of his feeling toward OC. Perhaps it would be better to present this to the new Gov who's clearly stated his intent to sign OC into law.

Bills being filed now are for the next legislative session. It will go to Gov. Scott if passed.

Hope this passes, especially with the college campus language intact. UCF's growth has been attracting all sorts of bad people to this area (I live about a mile from campus, and work near research pkwy).

David Simmons is my senator. I believe he's been endorsed by the NRA, and voted Yes for the Firearms in Vehicles bill in 2008. I'm fairly certain he'll support this bill- but I'll try to write him, just in case.
