IT'S MUCH WORSE NRA-ILA :: Your Gun Rights Under Attack in Sacramento

"The California Legislature finally adjourned on Friday but not before passing four anti-gun bills.
Governor Jerry Brown now has the final say on whether these bills are vetoed or become law. "

Assembly Bill 809 would require the registration of any newly purchased long guns.

Senate Bill 427 would grant authority to law enforcement to collect sales records from ammunition retailers,

Assembly Bill 144 would ban the open carrying of an unloaded handgun.

Senate Bill 819 would allow the Department of Justice to use the Dealer Record of Sales (DROS) funds to help pay for enforcement of California firearm possession laws .

Thank you for the clarification. I really hate the way my state is going. While true that this state is full of hippie socialists, there are many of us who want our liberties intact and the government out of our lives. This is a huge blow to my confidence in our lawmakers and my country. This makes me sad.

Thank you for the clarification. And I imagine that our liberal governor will not uphold our rights and deny it right? I really hate the way my state is going. While true that this state is full of hippie socialists, there are many of us who want our liberties intact and the government out of our lives. This is a huge blow to my confidence in our lawmakers and my country. This makes me sad.

It appears they have been surrendered to the "Antis". IMO
Fortunately there are some with common sense who can reason out the fact that a carte blanche "do not do business" may be counterproductive if one of the named states has a business in it known as Smith and Wesson...just saying, I will never understand the hypocrisy of that particular plant being located in Springfield, MA but it is and that will not defer me from picking up a S&W at some point in time. You are correct, however, that the antis reign supreme in the Commonwealth!

it is a shame...my company is in the process of closing our California facility (our west coast headquarters) to move to AZ b/c of all the insane BS out there.

I love my country and I hate that we're putting people out of work, but it's truly like another planet. The inmates are running the asylum out there for sure.

This is exactily how it'll go down BTW:

    Robber: Gimmie your money!
Innocent person: Hang tight, let me load my empty pistol.
    Robber: You got it!
Innocent person: OK, almost there....dropped one
Robber: Done yet? I need your money like ASAP!
Innocent person: Done....now you get outta here!
Robber (Running Away): Next time....NEEEXXXTTT TIME!!!

    PROOF that it works!!

Open carry of loaded guns in CA was made illegal by the Mulford Act. "The gunowners friend", CA governor Ronald Reagan, signed the Mulford Act into law. Now it looks like CA will take that a step further and ban the carry of unloaded guns.

What I can’t stand is that California’s laws are dictating the shape, design, and features of guns sold in the other 49 states (unless you’re Obama, then it’s 56). Look at the explosion of loaded chamber indicators. I see that Kahr’s added one to their 380. Why? You got it: CA Approved.

While CA firearms laws can be overly restrictive and silly, it seems that most people that do not live in CA do not fully understand the CA laws. Why would they? Most of the information that is spread is based on rumors and non-facts. While we are restricted in CA, we do still have rights. CCW permits are obtainable in many counties here. We do still have laws allowing us to protect and defend ourselves.

Yes, these new Bills suck! No, they should not be signed into law.

Please realize that we have strong organizations fighting for our 2a rights in CA (like the CalGuns Foundation), and they are making serious progress in that battle. The war is on, and gun owners in CA are fighting a good fight! While we do have more than our share of fruits and nuts, there are plenty of "normal" folks that live life here. We will eventually prevail, because we will not give up on what we believe is right!

California has an approved handgun list. (Read, legally extorting gun manufacturers)
California has a 10 day waiting period. (Riot in progress - wait 10 days for firearms protection)
California has PPT and DROS...whatever the hell that is.....gun registration?
California has an "Assault Weapon Flow Chart". Courtesy of CalGuns.
California does not allow LOADED OC.
Several California counties will not issue CCW permit (LTC firearm) unless the applicant is wealthy or has strong connections in state/city Government.
Ammo restriction legislation on the Governors table.
NO UOC bill on Governor's desk.

THIS is progress in California? While other states are relaxing gun restrictions, California gun owners are getting hosed.

I think your so called strong organizations are doing a piss poor job, and the only serious progress i see being made is from the law makers and how many of your rights they can take away from the people that live in california. So you may still have right, they are very few and very selective and open to interpretation by the police and the courts.

You all can have Kalifornia. Where I live we'd prefer if more of you stayed there...

The best thing I ever did for my self is get the hell out of california. I now live in Idaho and have more rights and freedoms than those in california will never experiance.
I went back for a visit a couple months ago, and after you have been gone from there for over a year and then go back, you can really see first hand how bad it really is.

I was hoping that we could trade California to offset some of our debt to California, but I am afraid they don't want it either.
