Applied this weekend, getting electronic fingerprints done thursday. Said after everything is done it should be 7-10 days. So should have it pretty soon :D Also, since indiana does not specify concealed or open carry i can legal open carry anywhere i can CC correct?

Might want to read over state and local statutes. Found this on Opencarry.com. It appears localities can set some limits on their own properties.
Just curious, are you getting the lifetime permit?Complete state preemption of firearms law except localities may regulate the carrying of firearms in land, buildings, or other real property they own or administer.

No more local ordinances , just pasted July 1st, you can carry in State parks, local parks, lands and buildings unless there is a courtroom inside. Schools, Federal buildings are no-no.
Open carry is legal, it is a "license to carry handgun". The law is silent on long guns also, so you may carry-transport long guns fully loaded within the State.

Open carry is legal in Indiana as the law is silent on the issue (no statute forbids it)... not because of what the permit is called.

Paid the local fee Friday, Sep 23rd. It came in the mail this morning! (Thursday, Sep 29th) A six day turn around. They told me 7-10 days. Less than a week isn't a bad wait time.

wondering how O.C. will be? thinkin about doin that today, at least testing it out. I'm sure ill do it every now and then, just from time to time. anyone else done that in indiana?

I don't open carry, and don't see many people here in Indianapolis open carrying, either. Actually, haven't seen a single one. Seriously.
However, if you go online to Indiana Gun Owners, you'll find out that many apparently do. The nice thing is that you've got the choice, and if you carry concealed, you don't have to worry about printing and such.

I bought some ammo this morning, going shooting tomorrow :D I bought a box of speer gold dot .40cal 180gr hollow points for when i carry. and for target i bought 2 50rd boxes of 165gr PMC FMJ.

Moved to Indiana from California 3 years ago, immediately got my lifetime permit. Gotta love that!
I conceal in southern Indiana although I have seen a few OC.
Assault is a type of behavior, not a type of hardware.
How can you praise freedom, and condemn that which gains and preserves it?
