House passes bill to limit disorderly conduct for open carry
I have been following this story for a while. Nice to see it passed. So excited to see things like this.
Rep. Carol Moss, D-Salt Lake City, suggested the practice of allowing open carry in the state should come with some responsibility on the part of gun owners. She said societal norms suggest the open carry of a weapon in an urban area is going to make some people nervous.
“If I take my grandchildren to McDonald’s or a movie theater and someone walks in with a gun that is not concealed, I’m going to be ducking and running for cover,” Moss said.
What a moron.
We're trying to get a similiar law passed here in AL. Several people have been charged with DC while OC even though their behaviour does not come anywhere close to the level of DC.
Good luck Utah!
This tells me all I need to know about Carol moss
Just another career politician who looks down on her peasants.Quote:
Carol Moss refused to tell citizens where she stands on any of the issues addressed in the 2010 Political Courage Test, despite repeated requests from Vote Smart, national media, and prominent political leaders.
Yes, disorderly conduct should involve some sort of disorderly "conduct," not simply mere presence of a firearm.
Can someone please explain this ? :confused:Quote:
Rep. Stephen Handy, R-Layton, voted against the measure because of worries that it would take a key mechanism from the quiver of law enforcement tools.
I would ask Rep. Moss...who is acting more disorderly, the gentleman politely ordering his combo meal that happens to have a Handgun on his/her belt, or the crazy woman grabbing children, screaming hysterically and diving into the pit of colorful balls in the "playland?"
