First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out --

With apologies to Niemoller, do you think that maybe standing up for the rights of a provocative idiot might be important?
If they come for the OC'ers and no one says anything
and then they come for the assault riflers and on one says anything
and then they come for the CCW'ers and there is no one left to speak up for us, will we be surprised??

Why antagonize the police, the best way to CCW is to keep it quiet and be low key. He'll be looking over his shoulder for any type of violation now.

Thank goodness the founders didn't think like some of you guys. If those rabble rousers and trouble makers back then would have not made spectacles out of themselves and caused trouble with the authorities, we would still be subjects to the crown. And more recently, those black guys showing off by sitting at that all white lunch counter where just being in your face with the police. Shame on them. Jeeesh.

Did the Gestapo roll in and haul this guy off to Auschwitz after the camera stopped?

I don't care what the State Laws are if I see anyone with a firearm in public I would run their background, regardless, you as an Officer have no way of knowing if he/she is legal,This officer acted professionally, all though the kid got on my nerves by not obeying a direct order,The only thing I would have done is secure his weapon till he was cleared.

Would you also stop every car on the road to ensure the driver is legal to drive? What about every permit holder to ensure their permit is valid or they had not had their permit revoked? What about every business owner to ensure their business licenses were still valid?

....my bad for not reading all thats been posted but, here goes a few thoughts
--the cops 'looked' at the fishing pole just to put in an appearance to let the undressed see that there was nothing to fear.
actually not a bad thing to do considering how guns get bad press and most get antsy if a gun is not pinned to a badge
--camera, gear, find a cruiserr to park by....he sure set the stage
and for that i have for him , hmmm---borders on contempt
he looked for trouble and the cop ( possibly cause of you tube; but i think not) kept his cool and control of the situation.
--i think back on the 70's and the in-your-face methods of feminism. and as their cause blossemed and the news followed them, their methodology became more sophisticated;
and the timing was perfect--cause their boldness was becoming percieved by the mainstream as being overbearing.
so is open carry--now is a time for strategy--IMO--
provoking confrontation is more for his ego than 'our' good.
ps--i've always been for equal misery. why should women have fewer heart attacks from stress than men?
and 'our' is those of us who have chosen personal responsibility and to work within the system.

Not too bright, just wanting to call attention to himself and push a issue, kind of like some gays do.

Well lets see,If I could read peoples minds like you I would not have to rely on my instincts, which have worked well for me,Instead I rely on my Masters in Criminal Justice,Bachelors in Military Science, 12 years as a Marine,5 of which were ANGLICO,and my current occupation as a U.S.Marshall assigned to the GCRTF,maybe your better trained with these sort of situations, anybody with a weapon is a threat, until proved otherwise.Do you honestly think any Officer is going to let anyone with a weapon walk without seeing what his intentions are.........

If, Glockrocker is who he says he is, God help usl.
Laws must mean something. Society cannot allow those charged with enforcing the laws to knowingly break them. A LEO having a bad feeling about open carry must maintain a LEGAL course of action when confronted with an OC'r. He/She cannot disregard laws and legal precedent simply because they don't like/trust open carry.
Yes the guy in the video is an ass but he did NOTHING illegal. He cooperated beyond the legal minimum. The LEO appears to have run an illegal detainment.
When will LEO's wake up and figure out they are giving these guys just what they want, PUBLICITY.
Think about it, how much of a threat is an OC'r obviously pulling up in front of your squad in the middle of the day and not trying to hide the fact that he is carrying?
Is the LEO response more EGO than an attempt to "serve and protect"?
I'm way more afraid of Glockrocker's attitude than the OC goof's.
