I've found that Cedarburg POs are nice as a rule. When I was doing armed security in Grafton & was way early I'd stop at a park there to drink my coffee. Many times there'd be an officer there, usually on Saturdays & we'd chat & talk guns. Same as Grafton. I often stopped at the park on highway 60 & the river & chat up officers. Many of them had responded to my calls for assistance in the past & coincidentally one of them, a SGT, was an old Army acquaintance of mine.

How did the soccer game go?
    Jackson and yes they won

Here's what we do in MI (an "inform" state)

MSP - Proper Conduct During Encounters with Police

If you do a search on this forum, there has been a lot of discussion about what to say, when to say, how to say...etc.

Looks like a good way to get shot by some flat top'd haircut poser cop. Glad we dont have that sily stuff here
English is my second language, I have been told my use of it is harsh, apologies if this is the matter.

Never exit a car until told to do so, gun or not. Got stopped short after getting my license. Had my weapon on me. Cop wanted to show me my defective turn signal. Told him I had my sidearm on. He said okay and just stay in car. No ticket

It is case and point to know the laws of the state you are in. I have an LTC in MA and RI and neither require notification by law.

I have been let go for being brutally honest before. Not about carrying, but I blasted a red light one time and the officer who pulled me over asked if I knew why he stopped me. I said "yep, I blasted that red light because I am late for work and it was stupid. I understand you have to give me a ticket, I deserve it". He said "be more careful" and let me go.

I agree. Never get out of the car unless requested to do so. Also, you may want to tweak your wording just a bit. I wouldn't say I have a gun. I would simply say I have a carry permit and I am carrying. Try to avoid the word "gun." Other than that, you seemed to do just fine.

Does anyone have a link to state by state laws as to disclosure during a traffic stop?

When the DOJ in WI sent you your CW they included a pamphlet that says " Concealed Weapons License Information." Under "Law Enforcement Contact" # 6 - Immediately and calmly tell the officer that you have a concealed carry license and are carrying a weapon. They also advise you as to other procedures to avoid any problems. For you WI guys read the pamphlet again.

I definitely will not be notifying in either of those states.

This is an interactive reciprocity map, but you can click on the state and get information on that states carry laws.

Concealed Carry Permit Reciprocity Maps - USA Carry

I think you should always verify information from a site like this on the State and Local web site before you trust it...but its a good start.
