New to Forum, Just another Open Carrier
Hey folks,
Just wanted to drop in and say hello. I am 23 years old and have been OCing for about 4 months now. Have CCed since I got my LTCF. Only place I don't carry is to work because they don't allow firearms on the property. Yes, I have considered parking off property...
I have never had an LEO encounter, and majority of regular citizen encounters are just usually looks or honest questions. I have never seen anyone else OC.
My latest mission has been to get my Fiance to start Concealed Carrying. At our local sheriffs office it is pretty easy to get your LTCF, just need 1 form of Picture ID and about 15 mins of your time. I bought her a Kel Tech P3AT for her purse but she still hasn't made it to the sheriffs office. She used to not like me OCing because she thought someone would either shoot me instantly or try to steal the gun, but she quickly got over that after a few times in public with me.
Cheers!

I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it.

Welcome to the forum.
"She used to not like me OCing because she thought someone would either shoot me instantly or try to steal the gun,..."
Yeah, that's a popular line of thought that isn't very well supported in truth. But folks are free to believe as they wish. As for her permit, don't pressure her. She either will or won't. It doesn't need to become an obstacle betweent the two of you.

Welcome from South Carolina...
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

Welcome to DC. I agree with OldVet. Don't make a big deal of carrying with your fiance. She will do it if/when she is ready.
