Pretty sure he was drawing a parallel about standing firm for your rights (or lack thereof).

I doubt that this kind of discussion will change any minds on the subject, but they are fun to read anyway.

It is a sign of the times. Not just gun laws, but nearly every aspect in the Bill of Rights is and has been under attack; probably more now than ever.
This forum recognizes and is acutely aware of gun issues..It is a GUN forum. DUH!

Amendments are constantly being introduced & re-introduced. Constitutional authority and validity are questioned almost constantly.

Though I am not a defeatist, we HAVE lost rights in this country. To make matters worse; not only have we lost rights; laws are written to punish those who do not abide by the *NEW* amendments or laws.

Most everyone in these forums are Pro 2nd amendment. There are many outside these forums who are ANTI 2nd amendment. They have the RIGHT to voice their opinion too.
The inequality that exists, I'm sad to say; is the Liberal mindset seems to be granted far more latitude than those of us who lean right.

It gets worse; if one can conceive such a possibility. We in the U.S are seeing redoubled efforts to push the U.N's Small Arms Treaty. Great! Foreign entities dictating/re-writing constitutional law.
Can it get worse? Yep. Obama wants the U.S to be a signatory!

i dont know if you know this or not but in pennsylvania you can't cc if your between the ages of 18 and 21 but open carry is legal if you're 18+ without any liscense or permit i plan to open carry for the next three years until i can get my ccl. i dont see the point of open carry if you are old enough to get your ccl.

My opinion. Please IM me if you do not agree. I will offer a very Civil discussion on my feelings on this issue.
ummmmm......I'm pretty sure the OC 'do gooders' are the least of problems in California. I'd be more worried about all the anti-gun folks in government out there, then I would a few people trying to draw attention to a controversial subject.

I have never open carried, but I don't see what all the fuss is about. I need to do some research. When did carrying a gun become illegal? In places where it is STILL legal, why should anyone care. Probably, because the media and the government have people so scared of guns, people just don't know how to react to them anymore. Fear and paranoia. The OC guys who go out seeking conflict in an effort to bring attention are not the bad guys. I don't do it. Probably never will. But the point is, the OC guy isn't the problem. The government and media efforts to criminalize people for exercising a constituional right are the problem.

To summarize, open carry is legal in Pennsylvania without a License To Carry Firearms except in "cities of the first class" (Philadelphia) and vehicles where a License To Carry Firearms is required to do so.

With that said, we would like to point out that there is much debate among firearm owners about whether openly carrying firearms is really a good idea. While we will leave that choice to the individual we will state that in many urban areas (namely Philadelphia) doing so will draw unwanted attention from law enforcement that may include (but not be limited to) the following repercussions:

1.Being stopped and questioned by law enforcement.
2.Having your License To Carry Firearms seized and sent back for revocation.
3.Being arrested either improperly or for other charges like disturbing the peace or creating a public nuisance.
While this may not happen should you choose to carry openly, many urban law enforcement officers we have talked to have expressed a very negative opinion towards the idea. Some have suggested that law enforcement will do everything in their power to make your life difficult should you choose to.
    ...

The above text is from norb5150s link. Thanks for the info norb. THIS is the problem. Read those words CAREFULLY!!! Open carry is legal in PA, and even in Philly if properly licensed. However, the POLICE have said they will "make your life difficult should you choose to" HORRIBLE!!! Government harrassment for exercising a right and participating in legal activities. This is exactly what happened in Germany during the rise of National Socialism. I know that sounds VERY EXTREME. It is not meant to be some inflammatory statement. Read the Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. It's the historical, factual, documented retelling of the events that took place there. First, the government decides which rights they want to take away, then they attack and harrass the people exercising those rights, then they change the laws to make those people criminals. PATHETIC.

All the police baiting I see on youtube gets me pissed, I lived in PA all my life and its not hard to get a LTCF or as many call it a permit.. I dont think it helps when a bunch of liberals go out open carrying because they can just because they want to protest something..The ones I saw on Youtube are ussually guys around 21 in college and the get on my nerves.. On the other hand I dont like when police extremely hassle someone who is open carrying minding their own business.. The way the Government is especially today, They will just make more B.s laws that aren't constitutional. When the time is right if they want to infringe on rights Then the whole gun population needs to get together in the 10s of millions and march in a real protest.... I have nothing against open carry its the way its done and by who is doing it that bugs me on youtube

Is it getting out of hand?

A lot of the people open carrying in PA and "protesting" provide benefits for all PA firearm owners. They have brought a right to "light" so that people can know they have that right and that the law cannot bully them into abdicating that right. Also, the same fine folks have brought to light the open abuse of the non-preemption laws in PA. If it weren't for them, we'd all be quivering on our boots while carrying to municipal parks. I get a warm and fuzzy every time I see the "no firearms" words painted over when going into my park.

One other point, using "retard" is not cool. Many people have loved ones with Down's syndrome and it is an affront hearing that word used like that.

I agree with you blitzburgh...I thought this was a gun forum, not a place to start a "Race War". We all on here have something in common. We all like guns, like carrying guns, and like our rights of FREEDOM. And secondly that comment had nothing to to do with nothing.
