Leesburg Virginia restaurant: OC discount on Wednesdays

[Re-posted from a VA-ALERT with prior approval of VCDL. First person singular pronouns (I, my, mine, etc) and PVC reference Philip Van Cleave, President VCDL]

Leesburg restaurant welcomes open carriers with discount on Wednesdays - lots of coverage!

Lots of coverage on a restaurant that welcomes open carriers with open arms.

    Of note:

Typical boloney from one reporter: "There have been no incidents YET." And there won't be. Why doesn't the reporter go to a restaurant that bans guns and say the same thing?

Also, the comments by the Leesburg Chief of Police were disappointing. He went back to the tired old, "guns and alcohol don't mix," even though no one in these videos was drinking. Why couldn't he just support law-abiding people doing law-abiding things without all the bigotry and distrust?

I lived in Leesburg for 3 years and I just can't remember that place at all. Where is it?
It is surely true that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. Nor can you make them grateful for your efforts.

I was thinking about how I would do this if I had such a business. A giant sign on all entrances, one for each language common in the area, brail, and pictograms. Huge signs. Maybe a dancing chicken on the street corner too. Of course, it would be every day of the week. There should be insurance breaks for such a program.

I think my sign would read something like this:

"Since neither we, nor local law enforcement, nor the United States Armed Forces can guarantee protection from evil bad people who might (quite unwisely) enter this establishment with ill intent, we strongly recommend you legally open carry as many firearms as possible.

As a reward for your sense of responsibility and bravery, we will deduct 10% from your bill, which will be added to the bills of those not carrying since they are relying on you for their life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.

P.S. The life expectancy of a bad guy here is trending to less time than it takes to blink."
Also, all seats would face the door.

Ahhh, thanks. It must have been opened after I left town. I know right where that is. IIRC at one point that building housed a fly fishing shop/ outfitter.

    Fire Mission -- Poll

About half way down left side.

Would you be more or less likely to dine in a restaurant where carrying weapons is encouraged?

    Currently:

    More Likely 49.7%
    Less Likely 31.9%
It doesn't matter to me 18.4%

I go to Leesburg two or three times a year. I'll be sure to check this place out next time I'm there.

I live within walking distance of Cajun Experience and frequented the restaurant even before they began the "open carry night". The food is great, especially this time of year with the crawfish boils! Yum! They have live music on the back patio during the warmer months. If any of you are ever in the area, I highly recommend checking them out!

That is great. We need many more places like this. Imagine how safe going out to eat would be if a majority of restaurants were like this one.

I travel in the Leesburg area 7-8 times a year but I usually avoid town, traffic in that area is terrible as is all the D.C. suburbs within a 50 mile radius. Maybe I'll make a point to stop in.

I'm going to be up in VA most on the summer, not far from Leesburg, does VA allow open carry by out of state permit holders? I think I remember hearing that WV does not. I do love Cajun food.

Heh...I travel through there daily... Leesburg "traffic" is tame by comparison to the rest of NoVA.
