    Very pleasant experience yesterday

I was stopped a service station yesterday afternoon to get some high priced gasoline. An attractive young lady pulled in across from the pump I was using. She had her children in her car and she began to pump gas. It was then I noticed she was openly carrying.

I began to speak with her and she was very well versed in firearms and the laws of the state and Federal governments. She told me that both she and her husband carried even while at home. She knew her weapon well as she also knew those her neighbors carried.

This young lady allowed me to take a photo of her by her car and I will post it if the rules allow. She made me realize that the youger people are taking a real interest in guns and knowing the things they should.

I also told the lady about this site and she said she would check it out.

Good for her! Hopefully she'll join up and give a fresh outlook on OC'ing.

Right on OP right on!! OC is legal in my state but I don't OC. It's just not for me. But I've said it before and I'll say it now; OC folks got guts to stand up for their Rights and I applaud them for it.

I generally make a discreet, positive comment to those I see carrying as well, particularly when it's clear the person is with family. It's almost always worth the effort, as (like you) I have gotten some good conversation, feedback and realization from such encounters, occasionally exchanging pointers or help (as with identifying this site as a useful spot, or whatever).

Nice to see young'uns taking up with reality, instead of swallowing the Kool-Aid.

Sounds like a good encounter. You did invite her and her husband to the forum?

    Interesting encounter.

Other than the usual suspects (LE officers, security guards, gun store clerks etc.) I have never seen a "civilian" OCing in my neck of the woods. Atlanta area.
