Question POLL: Primary motivating reasons for you openly carrying a firearm?

For yourself, what are your primary reasons for openly carrying a firearm?

    * NOTE: Please, please, please ... let's avoid the endless debates over the validity of one's reasons for carrying themselves. Do not turn this into another opportunity to question people's own personal motivations or to go after certain reasons. The point of this particular poll thread is to inquire as to your own individual motivations for carrying openly.

Before I get too hasty, how much are you willing to pay me to OC?

OCing doesn't bother me.If that's what a person chooses to do,so be it.If it were to ever pass in S.C. i'm ok with it.

That said,i personally would prefer for no one to know i have a firearm on me.

Each person just has to decide what's best for theirself.

I'm for citizens legally carrying- I don't care HOW they choose to do so.

My "other" vote is based on occasional errands run while heading to or from the range, or a training. Not stripping down and hiding the gun if I don't have to.

My other open carry situation is while hiking outside of the metro area.

So, Ease Of Adjustment (of the rig/clothing) is what that might fit into, I suppose; or, rather, avoiding the need to adjust. Couldn't think of all possible reasons. Figured that some reasons fell into broader buckets.

I voted "you can't pay me" because personally I don't think the BG needs to make me a target if he decides to shoot. The unknown gives me the advantage IMO.

i voted no OC but it's negotiable for the right amount of money

i would and do OC however in the woods or privet property for comfort and ease of access, epically when hiking or camping when a lot of movement is involved. just not in town around lots of people.

The answer would still be NO. I do not like having shotguns pointed at the back of my head, while being cuffed....

I'm NOT going to take it lightly having cuffs put on ME while shotguns pointed at me for something legal- that is akin to the same outcome for "driving a red car or truck" IMO - lawyer time

You left off an obvious choice. Openly carrying allows carrying a gun that might not be easily concealable.

The best carry gun in the world is worthless, if it's home in a safe.

Figured that fell under the "Comfort" rationale, comfortably carrying openly what otherwise was less-comfortable concealed. "Left it off" purposely.

Again, there wasn't room to put any and all reasons all folks might have. Purpose was to propose many common reasons from prior discussions to put it all in one place in a single poll. Won't please everyone. Won't grab everyone's attention. Won't make sense to some. As always, you "ante" and play, or not.
