Paralyzed Vet Arrested (TX DPS)for having Black Powder Gun (see Article)

It burns me that TX DPS has had a really bad rash of THE STUPIDS lately. I have always held them in higher esteem then other State Police Agencies. Not long ago they did a cavity search on two females, but not only did the female officer use same glove on both ! they did it right on the road side. Now we have this. Seems the officer has his own agenda , I guess it wasn't important to call anyone and ask. I did email AG Greg Abbott (who is pro 2A, and running for Governor of Texas)

I for one am glad they're willing to fight this until the very end. They definitely have the law on their side.

Im amazed that open carry is not legal in TX. In TN, if you have a carry permit, you can open, or conceal carry.

Yes, Texas is a very strict regarding guns. I am required to carry my permit at all times. But given the progressive nature of other unlikely states, I too was surprised that the open carry has not been adopted. By the way CC laws are relatively new in Texas. Maybe 12 years?

TX really isn't he "Wild West" that some people like to paint it as. GA would be closer to a "Wild West" (if such a place existed).
TX - CC class and proficiency test required for license
GA - No test or class required

    TX - No OC
    GA - CC and OC

TX - Can't carry blades longer than X-inches
GA - Over 5 inches you can carry with "Weapons carry license" (Which covers pistols and blades over 5 inches).

TX - No gun signs have force of law (if meet certain requirements)
GA - No-gun signs do not have force of law

TX - 51% signs (% of sales from alcohol) = no carry
GA - No such thing and can carry in bars if owner says OK

TX - difference between revolver only and semi-auto carry license
    GA - No such thing
