    WallyWorld trip

My sis-in-law and mother-in-law were making a trip to WallyWorld yesterday when I dropped by to visit, so I tagged along for the ride.

I picked up a few things I needed while there, and as I was checking out, the young girl on the cash register said "nice to see a woman carrying a gun, i'm too young (18) to carry one yet".
Glad to see not all the young people have been brainwashed by the media hype.... Just thought I would share.

Yeah, they're not all bad. I've got a few I'm pretty proud of. My son (the oldest) is an honors student and is taking AP Government. His teacher is a dyed in the wool liberal and he has often come home with stories of her biased comments that drive me crazy. But, he makes me proud because he's smart enough to know how biased she is, and he makes his own decisions and has his own educated opinions.

My oldest daughter (middle child) is going to need a little more work. She's definitely rebelling against Daddy's more conservative views. Hopefully it's just a teenage girl thing. As for the little one, well, she's following right along in her Bubba's footsteps. She even asks what gun I'm going to wear when we're getting ready to leave the house.

We haven't lost them all thankfully. Also, thanks for relaying your positive OC experience.

Now there's a breath of fresh air!

Just yesterday, our Gov. Brewer signed into law legislation that extends CCW eligibility to age 19 for those with military service. Certainly a move in the right direction.

AND in AZ an 18 yr old can legally OC a handgun. Though I have only seen one young fellow doing this (friend of a neighbor). He drives one of those Crown Vic ex-cop cars, so I'm not completely comfortable if he's another GZ type or not.

I used to live in Phoenix (~1970) and remember seeing men OC in Flagstaff with western rigs. I also remember seeing signs that said to check your gun.
How long has OC been legal there.

OC has (theoretically) been legal since 2A. Alabama reworded the statute last september to remove the criminality of OC'ing.

I check my gun each time I put it on for safety reasons.

Sara, remember, in Alabama if you are in a vehicle, it's considered concealed and you have to have a permit.

Yes Gary I know, and I have my CCP even tho' I rarely CC, it's mainly just for the "vehicle carry", I actually renewed it last week and made use of the new 5 year permit law ($76.00). I had my CCW permit in Florida for about 7-8 years before moving to Alabama, so I just swapped from fl to al on my permit.

    Welcome to the site btw.
