Does this mean all these states allow you to carry in their State?
This is a discussion on State to State CHL Question within the Open Carry Issues & Discussions forums, part of the Defensive Carry Discussions category; I have my CHL in Texas and am traveling to New Orleans. Can I carry in Louisiana with a Texas CHL?...

Here's your best info: Handgunlaw.us
If you click on Texas it will provide you a summary of that state plus states that honor Texas: http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/texas.pdf
Lookup Texas on the left, and there's a list of states that will honor Texas: http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/USSt...orMyPermit.pdf
Essentially, yes. You should always go the next step and independently verify the info though, and consider city and county restriction in addition to state level laws. This can be very important in some areas. New York versus NYC, Denver versus Colorado and the like.Does this mean all these states allow you to carry in their State?
Always read the footnotes or end notes too.
Here is an additional sources I use:
I always review states, state-by-state, when I travel, and usually have a three ring binder with the summaries for each state into which I am traveling.

"He went on two legs, wore clothes and was a human being, but nevertheless he was in reality a wolf of the Steppes. He had learned a good deal . . . and was a fairly clever fellow. What he had not learned, however, was this: to find contentment in himself and his own life. The cause of this apparently was that at the bottom of his heart he knew all the time (or thought he knew) that he was in reality not a man, but a wolf of the Steppes."
NEVER assume the laws in your state are even similar to another state.
I would take it one more step:
Call the "Agency Counsel" for the state you are about to visit.
Many will email or direct you to a PDF file with all updates to their state firearms laws.
"I didn't know" does NOT fly in courts..especially when carrying a firearm.

Do what you can; then do what you must
Yes. Texas and Louisiana recognize each others permits. You should still get a look at our restricted places list as it differs from Texas and keep in mind that in Louisiana you have a legal requirement to inform a LEO that you are carrying if one comes into contact with you on a "business" basis.

Due diligence in reading those and even consider printing out the handgunlaw.us info on each state you are traveling in just in case and to have as a refresher if needed.
