Colorado Members, I Know You're Out There!!

I have a road trip with the wife planned in August traveling through that beautiful state. I plan on taking I-25N from Dallas, stopping in Colorado Springs, going on to Arvada (I have lots of family in the Denver area) and then traveling out by I-70 and making a couple more stops. I'm pretty clear on the Open Carry in vehicles, I can't CC at all in CO, know that I can not carry in the city of Denver itself, but from there it sounds like OC is acceptable. I've spoken with the AG and CBI. Also talked with a couple of the local police departments for planned stopping areas in regards to their enforced policies.

My question for y'all: Are there any other suggestions for what I need/should do? My permits cover me for all the other states to CC, except Co, so I am open to all the advice you guys can provide. The laws just seem to be confusing at points.

    Thanks!

    -Kyle

handguns can be concealed, or OC, in a car. they can be chambered in such a way.
Rifles may not be chambered in a car, at all.

you should be fine chambered and ready to go OC in your car, everywhere. I would avoid downtown Denver proper anyway, can get some typical big city cops with attitudes about guns.

avoid public buildings and parking lots of said. laws get weird. like; in a parking lot of a court house it must be in a locked box in the car. like a glove box or lock box, but it says nothing about the car itself being locked. but a school parking lot says nothing about being in a locked box, but that the car itself must be locked. stupid, contradictory rules.

but why only Arvada and Colo Springs? you're missing everything we have to offer? avoid the people's republic of boulder...but red rocks? Estes Park? pike's peak? rocky mountain national park?

The only place below arvada on the armpit scale is aurora, if you want to use you piece hang out on Colfax in Aurora around midnight, it'll get exciting....

Don't open carry in Denver. Else where is ok. with possibly Boulder might hassle you. Enjoy. Spend money.

just tell them all to meet you at Red Rocks. the drive up there is amazing, ya'all can have a nice get together in the mountains. it's close enough to Denver hopefully it doesn't put them out too much. and you don't have to go the actual red rocks ampitheatre, just that whole area is so beautiful...

it'll keep you out of the city, I mean, all cities are about the same, buildings and pavement.....

I-25N doesn't go through Dallas. You might want to recheck that. From DFW take 287 NW to Amarillo, then N on 287 to Dumas, W on 87 to 385 then NW to Raton / Trinidad then I-25 N fastest way available. I can do it in my sleep.

In Colorado Springs stop at Garden of the Gods. Red Rocks is good, Idaho Springs / Georgetown good, Dillon.........

    Moab in Utah good...........

Haha I know I25 doesnt run through DFW area, just didnt want to map up the entire route. Figured that saying I25 would be enough of a layout for my plans traveling up through Colorado and areas I'd be probably disembarking my vehicle.

That's what I figured, since you are from 29 Stumps, but I wanted to add some clarity for those folks that figure we don't have any paved roads out here. We hate to find their bones in the ditches in the spring.
