Open carry in New York State

I wish I could OC in me area...it would eliminate the amount of cash I spent on holsters and the different ways I adjust conceal carry based on the hot or cool weather.. I envy the people that can OC.

Having the option is a good thing .

    It is an infringement offset.

OC carrying seems so freeing. When I am allowed to do it I will.

It's definitely a nice option to have, especially when it gets hot out.

I feel for you Jane. I know I'm lucky to live in a VERY gun friendly area. I OC a good bit when I'm not at work. Been very convenient in the summer time. Winter isn't much of an issue since I have plenty of cover layers anyway.

I live in an oc state. Rarely if ever see any one open carrying. But I admit I have not been to Target in a while.

I live in an OC state and I never do. I equate OC to entering a tough bar room, if you are looking for trouble you will find it without much problem. My LTCF means License To Carry Firearms, it doesn't say how to carry, it's just that I chose concealed.

I don't live in an OC state but when I visit states I can OC in I still don't do it. Draws too much unwanted attention and that's not why I got a "concealed" weapons permit in the first place. I'm sure a lot of people do it just because they can, others do it for the "look at me" factor. Unless your a farmer out in the fields or on duty LEO I honestly don't see the point in it myself.

I feel sorry for gun owners who happen to live in states that are controlled by the one "big city" in the whole state. If it wasn't for New York city, you guys probably would not have all the problems with gun ownership.

X2 I hate that when I visit my family in upstate NY not even close to the city I can't even think about taking my gun with me. It's absolutely ridiculous that they can have laws against your constitutional rights like that. And in the city only the BG's have them that's why I'll never visit there. Just like I'll turn around and go somewhere else if I were to see a sign at a store, I won't visit a place and spend money where I can't exercise my rights.

Now that's its hot and clothing is light, I like the fact that I can open carry in Ohio. Rarely, if ever, get a comment about it. Carry yourself with confidence and be respectful, as well as in appearance and we all benefit.

It's nice to be able to carry full size guns esp when it's 110 out

I live in New York State but I am forbidden from carrying in New York City. I wish that city would just secede from the rest of the state...but then of course the New York governor thinks he is a king and his life is more valuable than the minions. That's why he protects himself with his own personal army of state police..who are armed.
