    I forgot

I normally wear an untucked shirt for a cover garment but today it was a little raw when I left the house. I tucked my shirt in and put on a fleece vest for cover and warmth. Put on a coat over that (8 degrees at the house). Go to Denver for business and errands. Stop for a haircut in Lakewood. I take off my coat and vest. I get in there chair. The girl treats me nicer then ever before. Makes sure I am happy with the cut. Go leave and relize I am open carrying. No one said a word.

While I am not a fan of open carry I certainly do not want to deny anyone of it if they choose. Sounds awesome the way it went for you!
I am consistently on record and will continue to be on record as opposing concealed carry.

I almost did that once. My granddaugther gave a look at my gun then me, and said "uh ---hummmm". I told her a big "thank you ". I have had to remind myself....since I've gotten so accustomed to wearing it.

Well, I OC on purpose. And I have never had an ill word spoken to me about it. I believe that in many, many areas of the country, the belief that OC will draw criticism or other un-wanted attention is largely a myth.

You probably need to really clean your weapon now - hair clippings will gum it up in a hurry, LOL.

I believe you are right Mike.
In some of the more political, larger cities like LA, Chicago, NY, ATL, it might be a lil' different.
A couple of years ago, I met with about a dozen folks from all over the state of Georgia, that had come to Lagrange to shoot over at our local range. Half of them were OC. We ate in a crowded, popular restaurant. No one said a word nor give us a second glance.

How do you suppose that (oc) would go over in the Philadelphia/SE PA area? I'm a tad north, but not too far.

FL is not an OC state, however, that being said...if it were allowed, I don't think much would be said about it.
I sometimes wish it was legal and accepted.
I have no desire to OC, but the the possibilities with it being legal would override the problems with the occasional exposure...OMO!

If PA. is an OC state ? maybe. I would include Philly in that market of cities that I listed. But thats all speculation on my viewpoint.
In other words...any large city regardless of where its at...I'd think twice about OC.

Philly is a little strange, it's the one city in PA where you MUST have your LTCF in order to OC. Here's a thread form the PAFOA forum on the matter.

If you have the intestinal fortitude, know how to talk intelligently without getting too excited and KNOW your legal, you might get away with it.

Interesting link, thank you!...don't think I'll be doing any oc anytime soon. Just can't take the chance of a potentially bad LEO enounter if someone cries "gun". I want my kids's first encounter with LE to be a good one, with respect and a healthy fear of authority.

Besides...I'm just too chicken to oc.
