    DON'T GO!!!!!

I left Jersey 22 years ago and never looked back!

I wouldn't care if I was offered $1,000,000.00 I'd still never go back.

What do you expect from a state that doesn't even trust its subjects to pump their own gas?

Avoid the state at all costs.

I am 19 and live in PA, but my family has a cabin in north jersey that i might be buying for a weekend place. i know in PA you have to OC till your 21 then get your ccw permit. how does it go in jersey ? i will have my shotgun for while im in the house, but what about a pistol for carrying?

its in vernon, NJ. its not a city, just a small trailer park in the woods. im sure i could carry and no one say a word, i just want to know where the law says i stand.

    Thanks a lot
OK, here's my .02. You said you may be buying this cabin, if you do buy it then it would be your property, so yes, on your land you can OC or CC. While its your folks place, I'm not positive if that's OK or not. There is also an exception for hunting grounds, in which case you can also OC. That's sort of where the good news ends.
NJ *technically* does do non-resident CCWs, but since there are only a few hundred non-LEO permits currently active in the state, that kind of sums it up.

I'd go back just long enough to get the $1,000,000. You can buy a lot of guns with that much money!

Very wise advice - don't go and spend your money there.

I left the Socialist State of NJ several years ago and suggest no one hold their breath on any significant changes there this century.
