I can certainly 'investigate' the removal of my 'stuff'...and if I'm seriously attacked while doing so...I can defend my life.
I know, I know...all may not agree.
I've not had an 'experienced' LEO feel uncomfortable with me remaining armed...either here in FL, or in KY.
Stay armed...protect the homefront...stay safe!
I agree; the "stuff" I own I have paid for; with the time I have put in my work; time is a commodity I have not an unlimited supply of, especially as my statistical life expectancy is under 10 years now.
So, if you steal someting valuable from me ypu have taken a chunk of my life ... and that I will fight for.
The first rule of a gunfight: "Don't be there !"
The second rule: "Bring enough gun"

exactly my point
but the guy holding the gun on another person, in the cops eyes, WILL BE the bad guy until the cops can determine what happened and to whom.
So to prevent yourself from being shot, I would strongly suggest you put the gun in it's holster when the cops roll up.

Bear with me, I'm still having a problem with the logic of this statement. If they have no problem, how can they consider you the BG?
I'm not being argumentative, just confused.

okay, look at this from the cops POV. You get a call that a BG has broken into a home and you were told the home owner is armed.
Now you roll up in driveway and in the garage you see a man holding a gun on a man laying on the floor.................how do you (as a cop) know which one is the bad guy??? How do you know, the BG didn't get the drop on the homeowner?
the Good guy is going to holster his weapon and say "I'm the home owner and I called you" the cops are still going to hold there gun on BOTH OF THE MEN, until they establish who is who. But the guy holding a gun, and making a poor move, is going to get shot......I would hate to get shot by accident

Actually had part of it on closed circuit but it was not enough to really tell what was going one. Just looked like the guy fell down no sound. It is one of the reasons why I strongly suggest if you have something happen and you have it on tape. That you have your lawyer look at it before you let LEO know you have the incident on tape. The tape may not accurately show what happened. Massad Ayoob did a story of a decorated LEO who went to prison because the persecutor and jury misinterpreted what they saw on his dash cam.
An aside I did a pic for a defense lawyer showing the persecutor smoking a joint with a stripper. That he used to discredit photo's the prosecutor had of the defendant beating the victim half to death. The lawyer said if I could produce pics of the persecutor smoking a joint with a stripper o my home computer. The persecutor and LEO with all their resources could have just as easily created the photos entered into evidence of his client beating the victim. Before I get flamed the so called victim needed deserved and earned the beating he got. I was honored to help the defendant beat the charge
