It's funny, I have seen several (what I assumed to be) off duty cops carrying in NY/NJ, barely concealing (once in lower Manhattan I could actually see the butt of his gun) and no one noticed. We are surrounded by armed people, legal or not; you just happened to bring it to their attention. I'll bet they flee back here thinking "Thank god, no one here carries around a gun!"

    No, no, no...

The correct plural is "youse guys".

And remember, the actual definition of "Yankee" is "someone from farther north or deeper in the woods that you are".

Yes, I was standing around outside several stores and passed by numerous shoppers including young mom's with their toddlers and babies in strollers. Maybe it the black pancake holster and black Glock against the black golf shirt, but it is as if I was invisible to the rest of the shoppers. No one took a second glance.

I almost cringe at the thought of relatives coming to visit. They just don't get it. I did, even when I lived in the north. I railed against the stupidity, then finally took my leave after banging my head against the wall for too many years.

    TN Mike, my neighbor,
Good job! Excellent reply. They still think your crazy though!
Oh yeah, Buffalo to Utica, the very definition of "Lake effect." Where the snow is measured in feet, not inches. Ain't no way in Hell I'll ever go back.

I've heard the locals have a knickname for that city, "Sorry-Excuse." As in "it's a sorry excuse for a city."

Went there once for a bowling tournament, I tend to agree with them. Not a place I would want to live. Couple that with worse weather than we have here and overly restrictive gun laws and I'll stay where I am thank you very much!

Oh, heck no, I make no native claim on this state. I am a Nuyawkah.

Went to college in Virginia and I was always amused at how the 'Real Southerners' (folks from Georgia, Alabama, &c.) didn't think of Virginians as southerners. They certainly would never think of Maryland as being southern! About all that the folks south of the M-D could agree on was that Floridians are definitely not southerners.

That's for sure since most of them are transplants from northern states.

Thats good stuff, people are so ignorant and blind sometimes. Maybe they will be put in a situation one day when a person like you is nearby and goes outta your way to protect them....maybe then they will open thier eyes.
