I now that there are cowboy style competitions. Just wanted to know if anyone has ever OC a cowboy style holster and what are some of the reactions you got. Not that I would. Thought it would be interesting to find out.
Thanks

I'm sure people do. I don't know how the style of holster would change how people see you. Most people are more curious about you having a gun than the type of holster.
I have two friends here in Utah that do this.
One carries a Ruger Vaquero .44 Magnum in a Triple K holster, with Triple K gun belt complete with shiny ammo around the belt.
The other carries his Ruger Blackhawk .357 Magnum in a nearly identical holster and belt.
Oddly enough, they are both named Travis.![]()
ive seen pics of one of those guys iirc, wasnt one of them a immigrant? pretty cool he choose to OC :)

Remember when seconds count.......the police are only minutes away!or
God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot shoot,
Courage to shoot the people I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference
I had a chance to meet Dennis Reichard at a class in Indiana last month. He OCs a S&W .44 magnum in what could be described a cowboy style rig.
Be sure that the State in which you live allows you to OC. Locations are important, Where to and where not to carry your firearm. If the law allows you to OC exercise your 2nd amendment rights. If your curious wear it and find out. I live in Montana and OC is legal, I plan to wear my side arm to illustrate that I am fighting for the right to carry. If we all do so the law makers and lobbyist will notice. Make the statement but be sure you follow the law when OC. Hope this helps you in your decision.
Yes! He is from Sweden. He came to the U.S. about 12 years ago, and got his citizenship just last year.
He is an awesome man, and probably knows more about the Constitution and U.S. history than most of us!
I have never met anyone that is more proud to be an American than he is.
So I am curious, do you remember where you saw the picture?

This is funny phenomenon. I used to OC "cowboy style" in another state . Since I worked with cattle on our family farm/ranch, I often wore cowboy clothes including chaps.
Whenever I went out to lunch at the local cafe or into town to get supplies I had little kids always pointing out the cowboy. I cannot remember one time I had any trouble from an LEO or questions about my gun from parents.
(Of course in those days, we still openly carried long guns in gun racks everyone had in their pick up trucks.)
