I've never had anyone ask for my gun, but I have been told by Loss Prevention at certain stores not to come back when I'm carrying. That's always been resolved after a nice, firm but polite, heart-to-heart with the manager!! Like I said earlier, I got kicked out of a Gas Station while carrying once but that was resolved within a day or two!!

The biggest problem I had was getting kicked out of a local Gas Station for carrying!!
Its the ones carrying guns that refuse to leave when asked that they should be worried about.

Very true. We (a friend and I) wrote a letter to the mgr and ended up getting the policy reversed!!

Not at WW, but I OC'd for over a week in GA, not one person seemed to notice, and that included walking around in large crowds outside. Sorry about the idiots....sounds like a good case for forced sterilization.

You guys are lucky to have the option !!!

Here in Florida, OC is not legal.

    I OC'ed a few times in Virginia, a few years ago, a non-event ...

OK, so this story may be carrying away the thread, but as I read these posts it brought an OC story to mind from last summer.

Short version is that a gentleman and his wife from PA (he was literally a rocket scientist, his wife was an RN) were in Montana and the wife was teaching a class that I was in for the hospital. They stopped in a Perkins for breakfast up in the NW section of MT. Two cowboys walk in for breakfast and they were packin. This old gent (he really was a gentle-man), saw the guns and got all flustered so he called the waitress over and said, "Those guys have guns . The waitress said , "Yep" So he asked the waitress, "Why are those guys carrying GUNS?" She had to have seen him coming a mile away, so she told him this long story about how the two cowboys worked for local ranchers, and they regularly shot and killed (and buried) illegal immigrants who were rustling cattle.

This old guy (he told me this story himself) took it hook, line and sinker. I did not have the heart to tell him how badly he had been taken for a ride.

I have started OCing occasionally just to keep the practice legal. You know, the whole "a right unused is a right denied" thing. I have yet to have a single comment, though my OC has mostly been short outings to Home Depot and the like.

I have yet to run into an idiot while OC, but odds are one will come along eventually!

I get that sort of crap nearly every day at work (gun store). It usually happens when I'm walking a rifle to the front of the store for a purchase or layaway. Muscle memory usually has me carrying it in a low ready position of sorts. It never fails that some guy throws his hands up in the manner you described. I usually just roll my eyes and walk away, however on one occasion I explained that if I wanted to shoot him I'd have the weapon leveled at him.

I know it isn't OC but it is similar enough that I know your pain.

Part of me wanted to rack the charging handle too. For a quick "function check", but I decided that would be too much. Scaring customers is generally not a good thing for employment.
