I'm glad to hear that it turned out that way in Memphis. I figured that the smaller towns in TN would be no real issue. I figured that in the major metro areas one would be much more likely to have issues.

It seems like more and more LEOs and people in general are starting to understand the gun laws

Great encounters (if you can really even call them that) The way it should be.

That was it...end of story...no questions asked. The perfect open carry story.
How does an off duty officer dress?

Good non encounter, although it is expected from me. We have good cops here.

They are probably pretty happy to see you carrying.....

And maybe some day this will take place on the mall in D.C. or on the boardwalk in Atlantic City, or Times Square in N.Y.C......

Who knows, maybe in couple of years I will get the freedom to choose here in Texas too!

    OC in FLA

I was in my car in Ft Lauderdale driving to the aux courthouse after an eight hour stake out in the rain. I had taken off my rain soaked jacket and hung it to dry over the seat back. I'm a PI working P/T for the Ft Laud. PD. I stopped at a red light on a small back street where a horse mounted LEO sat about 10 feet above me looking through my sun roof. I had a .380 PPK in a holster on my right and my badge (FL PI) in front. As I moved forward I noted the LEO on his radio. As I pulled into the parking space three SWAT vans surrounded me and jumped out of all the doors. A bull horn blared "hands visible" I just put my hands on the steering wheel. I had about 15 guys with MP5s, body armour, helmets around me. The guy on the passenger side yelled "I see the gun...and a badge." The OIC talked to me and scolded me slightly and sent me on my business. I never took my jacket off again no matter how wet I got.

Fl has so many confusing laws and permits!

This is my first post so I hope I put it in the correct place.
