The weather just got too hot and muggy today, so concealment was plain out of the question. (Yes, we native Washingtonians suffer in 85+ heat. Sorry Rocky, I know you guys in Mesa have been roasting. I am a heat wimp. 55 degrees and overcast is my bliss! ) But, I digress. With a rather full day ahead of me, I figured no time like the present to OC.
Made a recycling run to the transfer station, then off to the grocery store (Albertsons). There were a few looks, and even some stares in the store, but no issues. My fiance was carrying concealed, and was watching the others who were reacting outside of my field of view. She grinned at all of the behind-the-hand whispering. We shop at this store regularly, and our favorite cashier seemed to beam a bright smile when she saw my PT1911. She didn't say a word, but didn't have to. She even gave my fiance a hug when we left.
Next stop the local country fruit, veggie and fish stand. Warm reception. They are great folks and have always felt welcome there. (Grabbed some corn, blackberries, raspberries and Samish Bay oysters - The corn and oyster hit the grill tomorrow.)
Dropped off the oysters in the fridge, hauled some old CRTs and bicycles to St. Vincent DePaul, stopped at the bread (Hostess), hardware (Ace) and Dollar stores, then topped off the tank before heading home.
A beautiful, if muggy day, with no incidents - just as it should be.
