I know you can CC. I open carry in conservation areas.
If they say anything I am hog hunting.

You wouldn't want to get nailed with a poaching charge though. So i wouldn't do it during deer season unless you have a deer permit.

It also depends on the individual areas and what you are doing - some are "no single projectile" areas and archery hunters may not possess firearms. If you claim to be hog hunting, make sure you are still legal with respect to permits and seasons for other animals may affect what you can carry. Check the Missouri Department of Conservation website for individual restrictions. I can get the numbers of your local agents so you can get a more definitive response for the areas you're likely to hunt.

Ssmo, do you have a cite for CC on dept land?

The important part is WMA's: NO.
I spoke with an agent. Dept of Conservation land is considered a Wildlife Management Area. His personal opinion is he doesn't care even in a "no single projectile" area, as long as the person is not bowhunting. This will, of course, vary from agent to agent. Again, I would talk to the agent in the county to be visited and ask in regards to the specific conservation area to be visited.

There is a difference btwn state and national forests and conservation areas.
Mark Twain is a national forest run by the US Dept of Agriculture, Smithville Lake State Wildlife Area is a state park run by the Corps of Engineers,
August A. Busch Mem Conservation Area is a MO Conservation Area.
