News clip - OCing in Kalifornia

I don't know if this news clip has been posted before regarding law enforcement worried about open carrying in Kalifornia. Pay attention to the police captain's comments towards the end.

I haven't seen the clip before, But the comments from the captain is typical of the view of the ANTI-GUNNERS.

Don't you know that no one is qualified to carry a weapon in public besides LEO's.

What kind of a moron carries a gun to protect himself but says he can't understand why anyone would do this? Maybe the captain needs to check out his statistics. While I am sorry for the loss of 6 officers, how many innocent civilians have been killed in the same time period?

Actually, I like the overall reporting. Factual and without any seemingly biased viewpoint. It was news, not promoting an opinion. Well done IMO.

Kudo's to the Sunnyvale PD for issuing a directive to their officers that OC is legal and what the law allows them to do when they encounter any OC'ing. (Especially the "not look for the weapons serial number" part.)

I agree, no opinions were offered by the reporter, just those of the open carriers and the LEO. Thanks for sharing.

Didn't you see, this is the law there? You are not allowed to carry a loaded weapon, but you can have loaded magazines close at hand.

I think the point is, the mag in the gun is unloaded, so if they have to use it, the empty mag has to be dropped before putting in the loaded one.

question does the law state you have to have a empty mag in the gun? If not why have an empty mag I would not want it in there just one more thing to do and go wrong.

More gun owners in CA need to act like these folks in Sunnydale and carry everyday and vote to change some of the crazy gun laws in that state. Or do like I did 14 years ago, give up and move far away to a FREE state where people are allowed to legally protect themselves and those they care about.
