Let's say they start with presence, then go to verbal commands, empty hands, mace, oc, taser, etc. Of course deadly force if it is so justified. I would say that you would be met with verbal commands until whatever "perceived" threat is cleared up.
Have to say not always the case. I remember seeing first hand in Royal Oak, MI where an off duty Detroit cop was CCing, but printing. Had a white Tee-shirt over a glock. The RO cops came up behind him and tried to grab his gun, with no announcement, while the other cop stayed back for cover, etc. Detroit cop whirled around while grabbing his gun to stop from being removed and to defend his gun. Then realized it was RO cops, stopped, but did not let go of his gun. However he was yelling he was a Detroit cop. After several arguments the RO cops went on their way. The Detroit cop was standing on the street talking motorcycles with several others. Bad move on the RO cops as what if it had ended up in a gun fight. There were many civilians around that would have been hit by stray gun fire.

I havn't followed this entire thread, so I'm sure it's already been said, but no LEO has any right trying to grab someone's gun (disarm anyone) unless the subject has committed a crime, or unless the LEO knows for a fact that the subject is a felon and is prohibited from owning a firearm or he is absolutely certain a crime is about to be committed.

LEO's going for someone's gun is asking for trouble. They should have more brains than that.

No offence to LEO's, But some lack the Brains to think before they DO.

As for the the RO Leo he's lucky to still have his life..

really bad judgement call on his part and there were a lot of witness.
and he did this to a LEO , doent matter if he was from detroit...
