The List: A to Z Survival for the Abysmal Times Ahead

My Comments: I am really just concerned for 'The Big One', when the fault zone I live on just 'snaps'. Ignoring Zombies and Black Helos, or other Tin Foil Hat stuff, the below link to the A-Z is a good place to start a basic needs checklist from for basic preparedness to not have to stand in FEMA lines like the next slep. Just one of many references to access.

    ------------
It seems like no matter how well someone prepares, they inevitably find out they have forgotten something.

    (snip)

The goal here is to have a general inventory of “key words” that have to do with prepping and survival (what you might want to get and have) that have very brief descriptions and short reasons behind why they are so important regarding survival preparedness.

    (snip)

It should also be realized that no list of survival items and ideas are perfect for any individual, and just because someone has just a portion of what is on it doesn’t mean that they are not prepared.

I think as long as i or one of my kids or my wife is able to be mobile at all food and water wont be a problem. There really isnt much one cannot hunt or make or raise themselves if they know how. Ammo is one. Arrows however are a renewable resource if you know how to make them LOL

When appropriate, shoot, move and communicate. Everything else is just in your way. (My team chief in South America......... Some dude who would not want his name posted here). Oh, he also said something about my toothbrush that I cannot repeat here because of the rules.

Thanks for sharing the link to SHTF Plan.

I'm positive that we won't be able to remember every little thing. There will be a certain amount of adaptation and a learning curve. Hopefully, it won't take long to adapt.

I know that if the balloon goes up, I'll transition rapidly from being petrified.....to being totally pissed off.

Let's be honest. The SHTF can mean a very wide variety of things. One of the biggest ways to stay alive when the SHTF is to stay small and practice avoidance.

Things like food clothing and shelter will be worth protecting.

My plan was/is to make my farm a sustainable as possible. I'm planting fruit trees and berries. I'm planning to set up a wind mill powered well to water the cattle (when I can afford to get some ) and I'm going to add a hand pump to my house well. I plan to buy and store seeds each year and every year that something bad doesn't happen I'll plant the old seeds and store the new.

I have 50 acres of woods and a wood burning stove. Shelter, heat, water and food all coming in from the outdoors in their own time. That's how you survive.
It is surely true that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. Nor can you make them grateful for your efforts.

Does EVERY area of the United States have water underground that can be reached by a well?
A CCW is like a parachute; if you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again.

I'm not an expert, but I don't think so.

You might want to check with your local conservation department???

I've looked at those too and they are very pricey. Not that it wouldn't be worth it if you needed it though.

I have a very close friend who is a full time plumber. he is on the case and will eventually find me something not too pricey. Then he and I will put it in.

I actually have two wells so my first priority is the wind mill powered one.

In some parts of the country, you don't own the water rights just because you own the land. Same thing with mineral rights.
    Just sayin'.

I'm following atctimmy's plan. Except we have 9 acres with 25 wooded, no cows but chickens and bees
