Tac Lite, Thinking about Fenix PD20 or PD30, need some help
Never have given a good light a thought until I saw some of the stories on here and see how they can be used. I am thinking about a Fenix, because of the great reviews and they are in my price range. I am even more looking at the PD30 or PD20 model. Leaning toward the PD20 because of size. Are these good choices? Have yet to see or use one in person.
The two features that I really want is a strobe and for the light to be FB (Realllly Bright...)
60$ is about my price cap.
Any other options I should consider? Should I go for a AA model over the CR123 models?
Thanks

The Fenix line is a very goodlight for the money. I persoanlly like the LD20 and series a little better though.

I have the 4Sevens Quark 123x2. 230 lumens, very nice light.

Now why would you rate the LD20 better?
The LD20 and PD20 both have the same lumens, light modes but the PD20 is Half the length.
Don't take that the wrong way, I just know nothing about Tac Lites.

I prefer the LD20 because it runs on AA's. I always have aa's on hand, but I didn't want to go through the trouble of keeping a stock of cr123 also.

I have the PD30 for edc and keep a TA21 on the night stand. The 30 carries well and gives great light. The 30 also has adjustable brightness to save the batteries.

Do you find 6" a little long for edc?

I have the Fenix PD20, and love it. I think for EDC the single CR123 is about perfect. Small, lightweight, and bright. It has 6(?) different modes with run times from 1 - 38 hours, depending on what light level you are using. For me the additional hassle of dealing with another battery type is not a big deal. It is a single, small (but not too small) lithium battery that is readily available.

Thanks for the pic, really puts it into perspective. Since you took a picture of a PD20, I am guessing you own one. Any complaints?

I have the PD30 and like the size and features alot. You can pick up CR123 batteries at Walmart for about $1 ea.
If I buy another one, I will get one with the striker bezel on it. I think its called the Defender model.

I have the pd30 with the r4 bulb, it is exceptionally bright. It has a strobe function that actually made my eyes go crazy at night when I had it tested on me. (just to see how well it works) I would highly recommend it, it uses 2 cr123's and rated at 245 lumens its supposed to run one hour.

Does the PD20 have a strike bezel option?

I have two PD30s. They are great lights, highly recommended. The run time on these is nothing short of AMAZING. I have no qualms about using the cr123 batteries. Originally I was going to buy a charger and rechargeables, but since I'm still on my first set, I saw no need. I have 3 sets of back up and that should last me YEARS!
