    Weapon Mounted Tac Lights

There's a few topics on this but I was interested in a bit more info about them.

I am going to be purchasing a tac light for my G23. I have looked into the different brands and models. Streamlight TLR1,TLR2,TLR3 and Surefire X200,X300, and X400.

Now I don't need the laser so I can rule out those options. I am wondering what makes the Surefire so much more expensive? I have a Surefire G80 LED handheld light, I like it but have no loyalty to the brand. What is the difference between them all in reality aside from perhaps using different batteries? Any direct recommendations? I am most interested to know what makes the Surefire lights cost more than the Streamlight.

I believe the machining process is what makes Surefire more expensive. I've found that my Surefire X300 (110 lumens) was just as bright as the TLR-1 C2 (135 lumens) and my LX2 (200 lumens) just as bright as the TK-11 R2 (240 lumens). I love Surefires and prefer them over any other light but you have to be willing to spend the cash. I know I can trust them so I have no problem doing it.

The TLR-1 will suit you fine if you don't want to spend all that cash on a Surefire.

I've had my Streamlights for going on ten years. I have no reason to look at anything else.

I have read good things about the streamlights. I was curious what the big difference between the surefire and the streamlights was. I guess it's not as big a deal as I once thought, going by user reviews and hands on reports I've found. The price would have you scratching your head though because the specs are similar.

Looks like I'll be picking up a TLR-1

I got a Insight Tech Gear light and saved a ton of money over the Streamlight and Surefire's.

I have a Surefire X200...I love it, but I just happened to steal it off Ebay. I would definitely look at the Insight M3.
