Are you talking about hearing protection at the range? I always double up on protection by wearing ear plugs and ear muffs. That way, it's easy to buy whatever feels most comfortable since the ear plugs are the main hearing protection.

I've worn both and don't really have a preference.

I don't think that is is going to make a difference.
Which makes it easier to put in batteries?
    Which folds up easier?
Does one come in a case?
Same cost? What about db levels?

Having anything that will protect the ears and still allow one to hear what is being said makes range time a lot safer.IMHO

You know I value your opinion Ret the Leight are a lil cheaper just want to know about the quality in both. I really hate the the BOOOOM sometimes at the indoor when someone cranks off a .41 or a .44 mag.

I got rid of ALL my peltors but one pair to show for comparisons and switched to Howard Leight for my classes after comparing them head to head. The HL Impact Sports have better sound quality, faster cut out and return, better amplification, and FAR easier to change batteries.

Plugs and Muffs are about the only way to go. Sorry, I don't have either of those ear muffs, so I can't help there.

Howard Leight is what I own, have tried both, but my local instructors say they last much longer than the Peltors.

For fairly inexpensive ears, I like the Leights. Keep in mind, though, that the actual NRR of most muff type systems is fairly low, and a lot of them don't seal well over shooting glasses so you're not even getting the full NRR in practice anyway. I always double-up with plugs under the muffs to improve the hearing protection.

So, if I wear 30dB NRR plugs and put a pair of Leights (18dB NRR, I think) over them with the volume cranked, I can hear normal stuff through the plugs but I get good hearing protection from the loud noises.
