    Pelican case, or other options?

Hey all! I've built up a very impressive collection of handguns (I currently own three ) I want to get a quality case for them to transport them all to and from the range. I also want to make sure its safe and approved for air travel. I need it to hold 3 handguns, all semi-auto's. I've checked out the Pelican cases, and they are nice. I'm looking for other options to compare. The Pelican case with the pluck style foam is decent, but I really like the "universal" style that seem to hold the handguns barrel first, grip up. Seahorse or something? Whats everyones opinion? Thanks!

Have you looked at this Pelican case? Pelican™*Products*1450*Case

You can have them as you describe...I took a SIG Armorers class and the instructor had a larger case like this in the barrel down-grip up configuration.

I use a Pelican laptop case that I converted. I only put 2 in it, but it could easily be laid out for 3 or 4.

Love the concept and design, but $200 is a tough nut to swallow. The Pelican 1450 case was the way I was leaning for price sake (its only about $90) but I do like the design of the CaseCruzer better. Thanks!

I got a Pelican knock-off from CheaperThanDirt.com for about $60. It seems to be pretty durable and big enough to hold 4 handguns, plenty of extra mags & ammo, as well as eye & ear protection and a few other goodies.

I have a friend of mine who is a gun dealer. He has a couple of Pelican 1600 cases. He can get about 15 - 18 pistols in each case,

Pluck and pick foam he places the guns muzzle down into the case and lines them up side by side about five or six guns in each row. They are placed in at about a 45 degree angle and has 2 or 3 rows. you just reach in and grab the grip and pull the gun out.

Because only the rear of the slide and the backstrap of the grip is visible you can't tell exactly what gun it is. (Well, that's not true, you can tell glocks and XD's and stuff if you are really familiar with your weapons)

But you can store a lot more weapons as opposed to laying them flat inside the case.

You can put revolvers or semi-autos in that fashion
