Need info on these S&W grips for the J frame.

I've been looking all over the internet, etc trying to locate a place that sells these particular S&W grips ( the photo is not mine but taken for another forum to show the grips I'm referring to). Fortunately, I just recently acquired a set of these grips on ebay but I'm wondering why I can't find them anywhere else. The ones I acquired were said to come from an S&W model 60. Can anyone enlighten me about these grips?

If you remove them from the gun, are there any markings on the inside of the grips to ID them?

No, nothing on the inside. The original owner varified that they did in fact come on a M 60 that he puechased about 1975 or so.

    Search Ebay for J-Frame Grips.
You'll find some that are extremely close if not exactly the same style/profile.
I just searched last week and spotted them.

Did that . . . that's why I came to this forum for more info if available. I can't believe a set of grips this nice can't be found for sale. Actually, I was only able to discover two photos of these specific grips anywhere on the net. Also the owner bought his M 60 in 1995, not 1975 sorry for the error.

Well, they've got the S&W medallions...Try calling S&W and then E-mail them a link to that photo. They probably contracted those grips out to some gripmaker out there.
Who knows...they may have a set laying around gathering dust.
    Good luck.
