I've been cable locking my CCW to my front seat frame when I have to leave it in the car, but I picked up this new safe today for $20. It fits under my back seat (4 door truck) and for now I cable-locked it to the seat mounting sub-frame. I'm thinking about bolting it to the floor, but this way I could move it between vehicles. For $20, it seemed hard to beat. Programmable keypad or keyed lock.
I liked it so much, I got a second one to mount in my upstairs closet for my daily carry pieces. I'm thinking about counter-sinking it into the wall and framing it in. It would be just about a flush mount (2x6 exterior walls).
It's big enough to hold 3 firearms and some extra mags, speed loaders, etc. Seemed like just what I was looking for.
I got it at Harbor Freight (the box says "Distributed Exclusively by Harbor Freight Tools). It's made by Bunker Hill Safes and has 2 mounting holes on the back and two on the bottom (I ran my cable lock through the mounting holes). It has programmable digital keypad (3 to 8 digit code) and a keyed override access. Dimensions are 6.75"h x 6.75"w x 9"L. Seems pretty well built, thick steel, rolled and flanged opening lip, and thick wide bolt action.
